How do I apply?
We open for applications at different times of the year for each of our internship programmes. Our website will be updated when we are open for applications in each particular area so be sure to keep an eye out for our application dates.
Use of AI in the application process
While AI can be a valuable tool, your application form is your chance to shine and we want to hear from the real you. If you decide to use AI at all, it should be to refine and develop your own original thoughts and not to replace them. Our application and assessment process has various stages and it will become apparent very quickly in those later stages if you have relied solely on AI to write your application form answers.
What do I need to include in my application?
Firstly, complete your online application form. It shouldn’t take you any longer than 45 minutes to an hour, and all the details we need will be requested as you work through the form.
What are the entry criteria for each programme?
Actuarial internship: The minimum requirements to apply for our programme are an A grade in A-Level Maths or Maths-related subject and a 2:1 (predicted) in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) related undergraduate degree.
Finance internship - Grade B in accounting, economics, business or maths (or similar related subject) at A-level (or equivalent) and a predicted 2:1 in an accounting, finance, economics, business, STEM or similar related subject undergraduate degree.
Data science internship - Minimum grade requirements are an A grade in A-level Maths or a Maths related subject and a 2:1 (predicted) in a mathematics, computer science, data science, actuarial science or related degree. Plus a basic proficiency in R and/or Python.
Can I still apply if I don’t meet the minimum criteria?
Unfortunately, not. Studying for a professional qualification is extremely challenging, and we need to see that our intern applicants have achieved a high grade in their qualifications so far.
What provisions do you make for candidates with disabilities?
We’re happy to make whatever adjustments are needed to enable you to apply. You’ll have opportunities to tell us what actions we must take to make your application as easy as possible at every stage.
Do you only take applications from certain universities?
No. We’re entirely open to where you’ve studied so long as you’re expected to achieve the minimum grade requirements.
What happens once I’ve sent my application?
You’ll receive an acknowledgement that your application has been safely received. We’ll then keep you regularly informed about the status of your application.
Will I get any feedback?
If you’re invited to attend an assessment centre, you’ll receive comprehensive feedback.
What are the dates for the assessment centre?
Our assessment centre dates are published when we open for applications for each intern programme. We aim to give you 5 days’ notice if you’re successful in being invited to the assessment centre.
How long is the internship programme?
We offer a year-long placement for students on a four-year course and who are looking for a year in industry.
When will the internship programme start?
Our year-long placement positions begin in September of each year.
Where will I be based?
You’ll be based in our London office, which is superbly located opposite the Tower of London and next to Tower Bridge.
