Pacific Life Re Announces the Appointment of Nicholas Lax as Head of Research & Development, Europe

 

London, 24th January 2022 – Pacific Life Re is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicholas Lax as Head of Research & Development in the Europe Business Unit, reporting to Matthew Smith, Head of Divisional Research & Development. 

Nick has over 17 years’ experience in the life and pensions industry. He joined Pacific Life Re in 2018 as a member of our R&D team. Since joining the department, Nick has led the development of different mortality and morbidity assumptions. Nick was also instrumental in the design and the implementation of a new experience analysis tool. 

Prior to joining Pacific Life Re, Nick built up his extensive knowledge through a diverse range of roles in consulting, the direct market and reinsurance.

Matthew Smith, Head of Divisional R&D, commented: “I’m delighted to have Nick leading the Europe R&D team. Nick has a great vision as well as an in-depth knowledge of the UK insurance industry. Alongside his experience of cutting-edge analytics Nick will cement and advance Pacific Life Re’s research and development capabilities in the reinsurance market.”
