Pacific Life Re Announces Leadership Appointments in its Asia and Australian Protection Business
Pacific Life Re, a leader in the life and health reinsurance industry, have announced a number of new appointments within its protection business, bolstering its leadership in the Asia Pacific region.
Tyson Johnston, the current managing director of the Australian business and head of global protection strategy, has been elevated to the role of managing director, protection, Asia Pacific & global strategy. He will now be guiding the company's growth in the Asia Pacific region, building on the success seen in Australia. In this role, he will continue to report to Andrew Gill, the executive vice president of global protection for Pacific Life Re.
Martyn Gilling, the current head of client solutions, Australia will assume many of Johnston’s previous responsibilities in a new role as general manager, protection, Australia. Gilling has over 25 years of experience in reinsurance markets in Australia and overseas and will bring extensive experience to support the ever-changing needs of insurers in the Australian market.
The Australian protection business, now led by Gilling, and the Asian protection business, which continues to be led by Vasan Errakiah, will both report to Johnston.
Matthew Larkin steps into the role of head of client solutions, Australia where he will spearhead the company’s protection market strategy and sales initiatives.
