Join us as a graduate in London

All you need to know about graduate roles

ABOUT THE ACTUARIAL GRADUATE PROGRAMME

Who are we looking for?

To succeed in our graduate programme, you must be numerate, a collaborative team player, and able to write fluently in English.  Good interpersonal skills will also stand you in good stead.

Actuaries make up a large part of our team and are crucial to our business, and we’ll give you the opportunity to join our team of experts in our London office.

What will the programme involve?

Throughout your time on the programme, you’ll gain hands-on experience from various projects and teams.  This will help you develop into a well-rounded actuary with a broad understanding of our business and the services we provide to our clients.  You’ll be well supported throughout your exams and in your day-to-day work as you advance towards becoming a qualified actuary.  We’ll help you from start to finish.

We’ve designed a rotations programme to give our graduates the wider business knowledge and training they need to become future leaders.  Whether you join the pricing, research & development, or corporate actuarial teams, you’re assured of a career path that will provide experience in all areas of our business.  You'll be given stimulating hands-on roles and have the opportunity to apply the skills you develop across numerous projects.

What will you be doing?

From your very first day with us through to when you qualify as an actuary, you can expect to be involved in a wide range of activities that will help you learn and develop.  Our graduate programme will enable you to get hands-on experience with a variety of different teams, and our collaborative culture means you’ll be working with a diverse range of people across the business.  We’re constantly looking to innovate and find better ways of doing things, and this will impact what you do every day through problem-solving, analysing data and communicating results.

What do we expect from you?

We set out to be different, so our company culture is important to us.  That’s why we hire top-quality people and look after them.  We want people who think differently and aren’t afraid to challenge the norm.

We’ll encourage you to learn new skills and be brave in applying those skills throughout your career.  We’re proud to have created an environment where we all collaborate as one team. Of course, it’s not all about work, and we recognise the importance of reflecting on a job well done and having fun with our colleagues!

What opportunities will you have?

As a graduate at Pacific Life Re, you’ll have the opportunity to kick-start your actuarial career at a company that genuinely looks after its employees.

You’ll work across various teams, including valuation, research & development and pricing.  We can tailor the programme to the areas you really want to explore – it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Smarter working

We encourage our employees to work wherever is most appropriate for their day. Whether it’s at home or in the office, we have our smarter working guidelines policy to help everyone work more flexibly while maintaining connections and collaborating with colleagues. We encourage our graduates to be in the office regularly as it’s easier to learn from others and build working relationships.
