London, 28 February 2023 – We’re delighted to have won this award and be externally recognised for the work we do to ensure risk management is fully integrated across the whole of our business. We’re also really proud of our culture here at Pacific Life Re. This award win confirms our belief that actively supporting our employees’ physical and mental wellbeing has a direct bearing on us being able to provide competitive and innovative services to our clients and the wider market.
Whilst it’s a cliché, it’s also true that without our people PL Re wouldn’t be the successful business it is today. And so, looking after our employees, who in turn look after our clients, is an absolute priority for us. We’ve implemented a variety of wellness initiatives including numerous wellbeing days which are given to all employees, over and above their annual leave, to support better work/ life balance. We’ve sought to promote an open culture by asking our senior leaders to share their mental health stories and we’ve set up numerous talks and meetings, both internally and in the wider market, to drive the conversation about mental wellbeing.
This culture of openness and psychological safety allows our teams to be innovative and suggest new ideas which helps drive our innovative ambitions. We’re committed to supporting technology-led solutions that supplement and could even reimagine traditional medical research and we’re now a leading provider of funded reinsurance solutions in support of the UK pension risk transfer market. None of this could have been achieved without looking after our employees.
